What does the Peel landscape look like?
You cycle through De Groote Peel National Park, located on the border of Limburg and North Brabant. This area developed from a large peat bog where peat was once harvested. This peat was also known as the ‘gold of the Peel’. If you look closely, you can still see this history reflected in the landscape.
What will you encounter along the way?
The route offers a varied landscape with water, heathland and sandy ridges. You pass birch trees and open plains covered with purple moor grass. What used to be difficult to access can now be explored easily by bike. It is a place where nature and history come together.
